PAINTING & DRAWING - TUESDAY 1.00 PM TO 4.00 PM
Geoff attended the National Art School in Sydney (1952 - 1956) and subsequently the Sydney Teachers College. Whilst there he was fortunate to be lectured by many of the leading painters of that period, particularly Lloyd Rees, William Dobell, Rah Fizelle, Frank Hinder, Wallace Thronten and Russel Drysdale.
He taught art for over thirty years with the NSW Education Department as well as general drawing, life drawing and painting at various evening colleges.
My intention in guiding classes at the Sawtell Art Gallery is to stress the significance of drawing, painting techniques, composition and the general approach to art with stress on the control of colour and line and in particular, the need for understanding in the manipulation of tonal structures.
