As a child and as an adult, I have simply loved to draw. I was taught in the public system for over 40 years and when I retired I joined the Sawtell Art Group and since then have been taught by Geoff Mould, the Grande Dame of Australian Watercolour, Helen Goldsmith and the internationally known Wildlife Artist David Southgate. I have also been involved in many workshops with many well known artists both local and from the capital cities.
In 2017 I was involved in an “Art In The Algaves“ workshop, led by Peter Griffen, in Alchao Southern Portugal.
My teachers in Sawtell and Portugal have had a huge influence on me as have my long-standing love affairs with Michaelangelo, Da Vinci and Turner.
I have exhibited regularly in this area winning two major prizes and many recommended and highly recommended awards.
I work in Pastels (a true joy) many drawing media , watercolour and acrylics. I love to experiment with different approaches to my work and particularly enjoyed the two different representations of Urunga Lagoon. Drawing, pastels, watercolour and acrylics applied using different techniques each hold their own adventure and fascination. I am happy to do commissions and have specialised in wedding portraits and animal portraits.
