I was born into an artistic family and encouraged to draw from an early age. After some twenty years working as a commercial illustrator I felt the need to explore and broaden my skills in fine art using the mediums of drawing, pastels, oils and watercolour.
For many years I have been experimenting and coping with the failures that always come with watercolour. Through this I have developed various ways of painting and created a unique style. I enjoy capturing the atmosphere and charm of my favourite subjects, which include older style homes and historic houses, both interiors and exteriors, and the tranquility of country subjects and still life. I like to paint my subjects on site, working with dark against light, colour against colour and tone against tone – this is the way I express my work.
My art has been well received and sought after, being held in collections in Australia and overseas. This has led to teaching classes and invitations to workshops and judging throughout Australia
