Margot Jacobs Thigpen is an internationally renown practicing artist. Her work is in glass engraving, botanical drawings and painting. Margot’s work is a scientific representation of flora, fauna and marine life. She sees nature as an art form and shares her passion in its beauty with others. Her glass pieces highlight opportunistic species occurring with the marginalization of others due to environmental changes. Margot works in graphite, silverpoint, pen and ink as well as watercolor. She teaches at Corning Glass Museum, The Chrysler Museum of Art, Richmond Visual Arts Center and Pittsburgh Glass Center in the USA. Her work is collected and exhibited internationally. Margot now lives in both Ashland Virginia, USA and Sawtell NSW, Australia.
